The miracle of birth is an unique experience for every mother and child at Deaconess. Our aim is to provide a variety of services and amenities to meet your particular medical, practical and emotional needs. We want to make the birth experience a meaningful and joyful time for you.
- Eighteen elegantly appointed single-room maternity suites allow mothers to share the birth experience with family in a beautiful, home-like atmosphere by staying in the same room for labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care.
- Outstanding nursing care unparalleled in the area. We offer a one-on-one nurse to patient ratio throughout the entire labor and delivery process.
- Intimate hospital experience with a focus on postpartum care.
- Lactation education sessions offered free of charge to new mothers.
- Read to Me kits distributed by hospital volunteers encourage reading as a way of mother/child bonding.
Prenatal classes are available monthly. Classes include:Labor of Love Childbirth Preparation; Best Start Breastfeeding; Sibling; Prenatal Care; and Baby Boot Camp.

- NICU – A nine-bed level-II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides excellent care for babies needing additional medical attention. The NICU is staffed by registered nurses and a board-certified neonatalogist and uses the latest medical technology.
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultants visit breastfeeding mothers during their hospital stay to answer questions, give instructions, and assist with any problems. The lactation consultants are available by phone for questions after mothers return home.
